The staff at Netter Family Dental are a complete joy to deal with. I’ve had my teeth cleaned by two different hygienists, both extremely pleasant, friendly, and gentle with their cleaning. Dr. Netter is very thorough and seems to love his job, going as far as explaining in detail (if you want it) everything going on inside your mouth when there is an issue. ~ Craig Johnston
Full-Service Family Dentistry
There’s a misconception that dental health is separate from overall health. Yet 85% of Americans have some form of periodontal disease or gum disease which not only is the leading cause of adult tooth loss but has also been linked to heart disease, strokes, and diabetes. If you are under our care, we want you and your family to be as healthy as possible. At Netter Family Dental, we focus on preventive gum care and offer comprehensive periodontal screenings during your regular dental checkups.
With regular preventative dental exams and cleanings, gum disease can be detected early and treatment started, if needed. Gum disease can be present without you knowing. It is painless, and the symptoms seem small and nothing to worry about. That’s why regular checkups are so important to spot the early signs of gum disease. Our general dentistry treatments can help reduce gum disease before it becomes a dangerous problem.
Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing:
Designed to remove dental plaque and tartar (calculus) which cause inflammation to the gum tissue and surrounding bone. Here’s a great video that shows the procedure:
Dental sealants prevent decay on some of those hard-to-reach teeth. Dental sealants are a clear plastic film that can be placed on the spots that are hard to brush, such as molars and premolars.
Custom Occlusal Guards for Bruxism (Teeth Grinding):
If you wake up every morning with soreness in your jaw or if you notice that your teeth are starting to hurt for no reason, you might need to consider getting an occlusal guard. Occlusal guards are removable devices that fit over the teeth and are used to help prevent the wearing down of teeth during sleep due to grinding and clenching.
Custom Sports Mouth Guards for Athletes (including children and teens):
Protect your ‘game face’ with a custom (comfortable) mouth guard.
Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria and sugars in the mouth. It also reverses early decay. In children under 6 years of age, fluoride becomes incorporated into the development of permanent teeth, making it difficult for acids to demineralize the teeth. Fluoride also helps speed remineralization as well as disrupts acid production in the teeth of both children and adults. We recommend treatment every 6 months (2x/yr).
